Woodseats welcomes 4 new Queen Scouts!

It’s an achievement to be proud of, and another 4 members from Woodseats Scout Unit have been presented with their Queen Scout award tonight.

Being the single highest award in Scouting, the Queen Scout award is the culmination of everything that you do as a young person in Scouting

Abby, Charlotte, James, Richard and Ben have worked tirelessly over the past few years, completing numerous different sections in order to gain the award, and will join over 80 other young people from Woodseats who have been awarded the badge over the last 50 years.

They were each presented with their own certificate, signed by Her Majesty the Queen, their Queen Scout award cloth and pin badge and a congratulatory piece of glassware from South Yorkshire Scouts, by the County Commissioner, Andy Moore, and the Chief Commissioner for England, Alex Peace-Gadsby.

The certificate from Her Majesty the Queen reads

As a Queen’s Scout you have prepared yourself for service to other people and your community and have shown yourself a worthy member of the worldwide Scout Movement. I wish you every success on your journey through life; may it prove for you a joyous adventure. Elizabeth R

The 5 award holders will travel down to Windsor Castle in April, to parade with the Country’s other award holders, and meet the Royal Family, along with Bear Grylls, Chief Scout.
